The late Robert D. (Bob) Beitzel purchased Ace Welding in 1955, a small welding shop on 8th Street in downtown Zanesville, Ohio. In 1962 after out growing the existing facilities, land was purchased and the name was changed to Ace Truck Equipment.

A new facility was constructed at its current location, 1130 Newark Road. In the years to follow, the building was enlarged multiple times to keep up with the demands of the business, and features over 25,000 square feet of service area.

In 1978 due to increased demand in the industry it was decided to expand the business to the Columbus market as Ace Truck Body Inc. in Grove City, Ohio.

Then in 1991, an opportunity arose to expand into the West Virginia marketplace. The assets of Baker Truck Equipment in Charleston, West Virginia were purchased and the business was moved to its current location in Hurricane, West Virginia.

Bob’s original vision was put customers and their truck equipment needs first – a vision still carried on today. He accomplished this by employing the finest people, having first class facilities and giving attention to even the smallest detail.

Today, we remain a family owned and operated business, now in its third generation. We are proud to have served our customers with dependable service and quality products over this sixty plus year span!
